the first sentence of the proverb says.. when we practise wushu.. we have to abide to many restrictions, rules and guard against many things etc.. for example.. to do a proper front leg spilt.. we must do proper warm up otherwise we will injure ourselves.. and the second sentence is.. the number one on the list that we must guard against is jealousy... why is that so? Will someone like to comment more on this?

jealousy is like a wrong kind of attitude to, not just learning of wushu, but also just anything you do in life.

i guess jealousy will stop your mind from thinking right and doing the right thing. just like, if im jealous of this particular person, i might do anything (right or wrong) just to get the same attention and skill as that particular perrson. and even so, neglecting and overlooking friendships and other things i might gained through the correct learning process.

haha. and just to add on, i always think people who get jealous of the others tend to get proud easily. and there goes another chinese saying, 骄者必败. (jiao zhe bi bai - meaning: people who are proud are definitely not going to make it to success)

nice explaination from ms simin.
good one.

but the jie is more on morales rather than wushu training.

like:
forbide to use wushu for fighting
forbide to use it to bully ppl
forbide to brag abt it
etc.

most forbidden thing is to be jealous of others.
